Learn More About Our Community Outreach
As a health care leader in North Texas, Baylor continues its legacy of commitment to improving the health of the communities it serves through its attentiveness to understanding their needs and addressing them with a wide range of outreach initiatives.
Baylor's commitment now also satisfies new federal requirements outlined in the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act. Twenty-five Baylor hospitals performed a Community Health Needs Assessment (CHNA) and adopted an Implementation Plan for addressing the health needs identified in each hospital’s community. The relationship of each hospital to BHCS enhances its ability to address community needs through system initiatives found in each Implementation Plan.
The CHNAs include input from persons who represent the broad interests of the community, having special knowledge of or expertise in public health. The CHNAs will serve as the foundation for community health improvement planning efforts over the next three years, while the Plans will be evaluated annually.
The following community health needs represent those identified across Dallas/Fort Worth. The needs have been consolidated into thirteen categories, listed in the chart below. To learn about each Hospital’s outreach efforts, please visit the appropriate Region in which the Hospitals are located.
