Community Benefit Reports

As a not-for-profit, faith-based health care provider in North Texas, Baylor is founded on the principle of improving community health by addressing identified community health needs. Through the years, the region has benefited from billions of dollars in expenditures by the Baylor system to improve the overall health of the communities it serves. A focus on providing quality care to the community, along with open transparency, has been Baylor's commitment since 1903.

With new realities and challenges in health care, Baylor stands ready to serve the community. Through strong leadership and a commitment to its founding principles, Baylor will continue to be the community asset it has always been. The Baylor mission has never been more crucial than it is today.

Baylor exceeds all state and federal legal requirements mandating the provision of community benefit by tax-exempt, not-for-profit health care organizations. Baylor’s community benefit expenditures in fiscal year 2012 were more than $539 million*. We invite you to read our hospitals' reports on community benefit to find our more about our financial stewardship and how we fulfill community needs.
