Baylor Medical Center at Waxahachie

Jay Fox joined Baylor Waxahachie in 2007. Prior to that he served as executive director of Our Children's House (OCH) at Baylor in Dallas and as vice president of operations for Baylor Specialty Health Centers. Under his leadership, OCH planned two facility expansions that included additional patient beds, therapy space and an outpatient surgery center and also added eight outpatient clinics.

Fox serves an active role as a board member in many organizations both professional and non-profit-related. His board appointments include: Children's Hospitals & Related Institutions of Texas, past-president, DFW Hospital Council, The North Texas chapter of the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE), The Health Industry Council and the Council of Policy Development for the Texas Hospital Association, Baylor Surgicare at Mansfield, Baylor Surgicare at Ennis. Other board appointments include: Workforce Solutions Greater Dallas, Waxahachie Chamber of Commerce Advisory Board and Citizen's Advisory Board for Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART). Non-profit endeavors include his commitment to the Dallas Summer Musicals executive board, the Next Generation of Philanthropists board, Special Care and Career Services board, Expanding Worlds Luncheon, past chair and Make-a-Wish Foundation Gala Chair.

Fox is a 1999 graduate of Leadership Dallas, and has served as the chair of the board of directors for the alumni association. He is also a 2009 graduate of Leadership Waxahachie. Fox was a nominee for the Young Healthcare Executive of the Year Award, and was included the Dallas Business Journal's prestigious '40-under-40' list. He was also awarded the 2010 Leadership Award by the Waxahachie Chamber of Commerce. Fox is also an active examiner for the Malcolm Baldridge award and Texas Quality Award programs.

Fox has accomplished many things since arriving at Baylor Waxahachie. Under his direction, Baylor Waxahachie received the Thompson Reuters 100 Top Hospitals Award, the Texas Quality Award – Achievement level, and the MIDAS Platinum Quality Award. In addition to growing the hospital in size, services and medical staff membership, Fox has been instrumental in the hospital's efforts to constantly improve its quality of care. Baylor Waxahachie has been recognized by VHA, Inc. with a Leadership Award for Clinical Excellence in preventing surgical complications and won first place at Baylor Health Care System's first annual Quality Improvement Summit for successfully creating a system to identify and treat patients at high risk for developing blood clots during their hospital stay. Fox also facilitated the purchase and development of 83 acres near the intersection of I-35 and Highway 287. This land will be used for the future development of the Southern sector of the Baylor Health Care System service area.
