Baylor Medical Center at McKinney

Scott Peek is president of Baylor Medical Center at McKinney, a 95-bed full-service medical center, which opened in July 2012 to provide health care services, including an emergency department and Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, to McKinney and surrounding communities.

Peek has been with Baylor Health Care System since 2001 and has served in several leadership roles including as president of Baylor Specialty Hospital and Our Children’s House at Baylor and as chief operating officer at Baylor Regional Medical Center at Grapevine. During his tenure at Baylor Grapevine, Peek provided oversight and direction for a variety of strategic and operational initiatives including service excellence, construction activity and facility growth, strategic planning and service line growth.

Peek has focused his efforts on leading a culture that fosters employee engagement and accountability as the foundation to achieving service and clinical excellence. In 2009, Baylor Grapevine received the Texas Award for Performance Excellence from Texas Quality Foundation, becoming only the sixth health care organization to win the statewide recognition.

In 2009, Peek was chosen as “Young Healthcare Executive of the Year” by the Dallas/Fort Worth Hospital Council. The annual award honors young professionals who display key characteristics and abilities of future health care leaders.

Peek received his Master in Health Care Administration and Master in Business Administration from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. In addition to his health care career, he serves on the local board for Young Life, is an active member of the McKinney Rotary Club, volunteers at the McKinney Housing Authority and coaches youth sports. Peek also serves on the Cotton Bowl Council.
