Doug Lawson serves as president of 276-bed Baylor Regional Medical Center at Grapevine.
Lawson, who is from the panhandle town of Tahoka, Texas, has more than 15 years of increasing responsibility in health care administration. Prior to joining Baylor, Lawson served as senior vice president and chief operating officer for Cabell Huntington Hospital (CHH) in Huntington, W. Va. While at CHH, Lawson oversaw creation of a comprehensive cancer center and initiated construction of an $80 million, 110-bed patient tower and emergency department expansion. Lawson also served as president and chief executive officer of The Cancer Institute, part of the Saint Luke's Health System in Kansas City, Mo., and concurrently served as System vice president from 1999 to 2004. He was vice president and chief operating officer of the M.D. Anderson Cancer Network in Fort Worth from 1997-1998 and has served as a senior administrator at Northeast Louisiana Cancer Institute in Monroe, La., and Scott and White Memorial Hospital and Clinic in Temple, Texas.
