Barbara Vaughn, RN, MSN, RN-BC

Barbara graduated from Texas Woman’s University in 1977 with a BSN and in 1996 with a MSN in Nursing Administration. She has diverse experience in healthcare management including strategic planning, budget development and administration, medical surgical nursing, pediatric nursing, rehabilitation nursing, care coordination and social work, staff development, recruitment and retention, and employee recognition. She has been employed with the Baylor Health Care System since 2002 serving as a manager for the departments of care coordination and social work and director of acute care and women’s services.

Currently, Barbara is the Chief Nursing Officer at Baylor Medical Center at Carrollton. In 2009, she completed a one-year program “Leadership Lab for Women” facilitated by the ELI Group. In 2010, Barbara completed the Baylor Health Care System - Southern Methodist University Nurse Executive Fellowship.
