Janice Walker joins the Baylor Garland family as the new Chief Nursing Officer (CNO)/Chief Operating Officer (COO). Janice most recently held the position of vice president of clinical services, chief nursing officer at Texas Health Presbyterian - Wilson N. Jones Medical Center in Sherman, Texas.  Janice’s previous experiences include COO duties at Freeman Neosho Hospital in Missouri, and CNO duties at Slidell Memorial Hospital in Louisiana and National Park Medical Center in Hot Springs, Arkansas. 

Janice successfully guided her previous team through many achievements such as:  TJC Stroke Specialty Certification with 98% compliance in all TJC stroke standards; accredited Chest Pain Center with 100% compliance in door to balloon under 90 minutes; VHA Texas - Top Performing Hospital in Core Measures, U.S. News and World Report - Top Stroke Care; Blue Cross Distinction Cardiac Care; Texas Health Top Quality Institute; Get with the Guidelines from American Health Association (Gold Stroke and Gold Heart Failure) Certification; Get with the Guidelines – American Heart Association - best practice published report – Incorporating Accountability into Nursing and Physician Practice.

Janice completed her MBA at the University of Phoenix and graduated summa cum laude. She obtained her BSN at Henderson State University in Arkadelphia, AR and graduated magna cum laude.
