We recently unveiled a Nursing Leadership Academy that touches all levels from charge nurse to CNO. The academy encompasses all aspects of leadership that will help you grow as a leader with Baylor.
We have ongoing nursing leadership development which includes:
In April 2009, we kicked off our BHCS Nurse Executive Fellowship, which was designed to develop executive leadership skills in our high potential leaders. The fellowship was created in partnership with the Southern Methodist University (SMU) Cox School of Business. SMU and Baylor Health Care System have worked together to deliver a customized 13-month curriculum which is based on competencies determined by Baylor and the American Organization of Nurse Executives (AONE). The curriculum includes completion of a capstone project and classes and speakers covering topics such as, developing effective leadership behaviors, leading change, analyzing financial statements and building high performance teams. Also, each fellow is partnered with a senior leader mentor who advises and coaches the nursing leader during the fellowship.
