I need information about...
When a patient enters the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) needing respiratory care, our staff provides rapid treatment as indicated by the person's condition. They will also remain with the nursing staff to provide bedside care as needed around the clock.
Typically, ICU respiratory treatments focus on diagnosing problems using blood gas analyses and other tests, maintaining an unobstructed airway (often through intubation), and performing treatments such as percussion or Chest physiotherapy (CPT) to improve lung condition. Our staff will also provide mechanical ventilation to help patients breathe, refine ventilator operation as patient condition changes, and help transition patients from the ventilator as they become ready to breathe on their own.
