Neuropsychology Services and Specialties

Our goal is to address the problems that individuals recovering from medical illness or injury face, in order to improve their quality of life. Continuity of care is important to us. That's why we continue to work with patients who we have evaluated and treated earlier in the course of their rehabilitation to bridge services for those who may later require outpatient rehabilitation services.

We offer a variety of specialized services, including, but not limited to:

  • Differential diagnosis of neurologic injury/impairment/illness
  • Documentation of residual neurocognitive and neurobehavioral deficits related to acquired or congenital neurologic changes
  • Assessment and interventions for memory loss, communication problems, attention/concentration difficulties and other cognitive deficits
  • Competency/capacity evaluations
  • Pre/post-surgical evaluations to guide treatment and provide follow-up related to adjustment needs
  • General rehabilitation and health psychology assessment and intervention
  • Worker’s compensation evaluations

  • Training in empirically supported cognitive-behavioral strategies to compensate for areas of difficulty
  • Preparation for return to work following neurologic injury/illness through work accommodations and recommendation regarding environmental and adaptive aids
  • Study skill and classroom accommodations, as well as consultation with campus and community agencies to ease transition
  • Consultation and training in behavioral management techniques
  • Adjustment to physical illness or disability including stroke, traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, amputation, cancer and other conditions
  • Chronic pain management techniques for headaches, arthritis and other medical conditions
  • Stress management related to medical problems
  • Adaptation to changes in body image
