You’ve come to expect excellence in clinical care at Baylor Regional Medical Center at Plano. But while you’re here, it doesn’t hurt to have a familiar face to help you navigate the system. 

Our Women’s Services department—primarily through our Nurse Navigator—offers education, support and referrals to resources for a variety of specialties. Whether you’re here for cancer treatment, joint replacement or a quick, cosmetic surgery, we help you find answers and peace of mind. 

We’re the “connectors”—the glue that helps make your hospital visit more personal and more comfortable. Whether by orientation, education or coordination of care, we support these specialties:  

For scoliosis, weight loss and joint replacement surgeries we offer:

• Individual or group pre-op orientation to familiarize patients with their procedure and with all aspects of their upcoming hospital stay
• Hospital tours for patients and families
• Ongoing patient education and support through daily hospital visits
• A link between patients/families and their health care providers
• Nurse Nightingales—retired nurses—who visit inpatients and their families (scoliosis only) 

For breast cancer, we offer:

• A three-year/full accreditation designation by the National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers (NAPBC), a program administered by the American College of Surgeons. Receiving care at a NAPBC-accredited center ensures that a patient will have access to:
• Comprehensive care, including a full range of advanced services
• A multidisciplinary team approach to coordinate the best treatment options
• Information about ongoing clinical trials and new treatment options
• Quality breast care close to home
•  Referral to a breast cancer Nurse Navigator for education, emotional support, and community or hospital services
• Breast surgery orientation, covering scar care, lymphedema prevention, and activities of daily living
• Hospital tours for patients and families
• Reach to Recovery, an American Cancer Society program that fosters one-on-one connections between breast cancer patients and survivors
