Hereditary Cancer Risk Program 

Breast and Ovarian Cancers

The Hereditary Cancer Risk Program offers a cancer risk assessment for women with a high genetic predisposition for developing breast, ovarian and other cancers. This assessment is performed by our genetic nurse educator/navigator and provides information about cancer risk factors and genetic mutations in the BRCA1 and BRCA2 genes.

Cancer Risk Assessment includes:

  • Education about the risk factors for cancer and genetic mutations
  • Genetic counseling
  • Review of family history and personal history
  • Genetic testing, if appropriate
  • A written summary of risk
  • Guidelines for continued monitoring
  • Education about prevention research studies
