The Skull Base Center is one of the few centers in Texas specifically designed to treat skull-based diseases. This comprehensive program brings together a multidisciplinary team of sub-specialized physicians on the medical staff of Baylor All Saints Medical Center at Fort Worth and Baylor University Medical Center at Dallas to provide quality care for patients with skull base diseases.
Diseases of the skull base include benign and malignant tumors, vascular processes (i.e. cerebral aneurysms), rheumatological diseases, pain syndromes and congenital disorders involving the head and neck, sinuses, inner ear, orbits, pituitary gland, upper cervical spine, occipital-cervical junction and meninges, cranial nerves and vessels at the skull base.
Treatment for tumors of the skull base may involve surgery, radiation therapy, chemotherapy or a combination of therapies. Surgeons on the medical staff use both open and minimally invasive diagnostic and surgical approaches, as well as radiation therapy, as appropriate.
For more information on the Skull Base Center, call 1.800.4BAYLOR.
