Imagine technology so advanced that stroke, brain injury or spinal cord patients may regain lost mobility and achieve greater independence to improve quality of life.
Baylor Institute for Rehabilitation (BIR) is now offering this technology with two devices from Bioness - The NESS L300™ Foot Drop System for lower extremities and the NESS H200™ Hand Rehabilitation System for upper extremities. This advanced, but user friendly therapy is designed to help survivors of traumatic brain injury and stroke, as well as other neurological patients get back to functioning status. Through Functional Electrical Stimulation (FES) technology, which stimulates certain muscles that are needed for functional movements, these devices help patients normalize activities of everyday living.
For lower extremities, the NESS L300 allows patients to address gait and foot drag which leads to efficiency of gait, improved quality of gait and reduces the risk of falls.
For upper extremities, the NESS H200 allows patients to practice grasping and releasing objects, regain range of motion, reduce spasticity and improve the overall use of their weakened hand or arm.
