The skilled therapists at the Baylor Institute for Rehabilitation (BIR) Outpatient Services clinic in Waxahachie offer a variety of therapy services for patients suffering from physical conditions related to aging, gender, illness and injury.
Monday: 6 a.m. to 7 p.m.Tuesday - Thursday: 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.Friday: 7 a.m. to noon (sometimes open until 3 p.m.)Saturday: 8 a.m. to noon
Center Manager: Cindy Carey, PT Cindy has been with Baylor Medical Center at Waxahachie for more than 25 years. She manages the Carter Rehabilitation and Fitness Center and has more than 31 years of patient care experience. She enjoys working with a wide range of patients in the outpatient setting, including neurological, orthopedic and vestibular patients. Cindy enjoys the teaching aspect of therapy along with the hands on aspect of therapy required with manual and cranial-sacral therapy techniques.
Physical Therapist: Jennifer Vasquez, PT, CLTA graduate of the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, Jennifer has been a physical therapist for four years with focus on various orthopedic conditions in the outpatient setting. She is a certified lymphedema therapist, and her continuing education has focused on manual treatment of the spine in combination with core training.
Physical Therapist: Michelle Dampier, PT, DPTDuring her post-graduated work, Michelle spent the majority of her clinical rotations in an outpatient setting where she developed her passion for orthopedics. Her continuing education is focused in sports medicine, where she enjoys working with the athletic population of all ages. She is planning to pursue further certification and specialization in orthopedics, as well as manual therapy.
Physical Therapist: Amy Reed, PTAmy has been with Baylor for 15 years in four different outpatient locations. She enjoys treating all types of orthopedic conditions with focused study in advanced treatment of the shoulder, McKenzie technique for spine patients and treatment of runners. Amy also treats neurological conditions with specific interests including vestibular rehab and balance training.
Physical Therapist: Russell Clarke, PTOver his 14 year career, Russ has obtained excellent experience in the area of orthopedic therapy with specialization in treatment of upper quarter injuries and disorders. His interest in manual therapy and corrective exercises to treat orthopedic-based movement dysfunctions and asymmetries helps patients of all ages return to work, play and normal life quickly.
Occupational Therapist: Judy King, OT, CLT Judy has a master's in occupational therapy from Texas Woman's University. She has been with Baylor for six years, working primarily in outpatient hand, orthopedics and neurology and is a certified lymphedema therapist treating people with upper and lower extremity lymphedema. Other specialties include certifications in Kinesio taping, Functional Movement Screening, Functional Capacity Evaluations and Worksteps.
