Steve graduated from Texas Woman's University with a Master of Occupational Therapy degree. His first job was at Dallas Rehabilitation Institute as a staff occupational therapist working on the hospital's rehab unit, pain management and work hardening with a brief stint in driver rehabilitation.
After transferring to Parkland Hospital, where he served as a senior occupational therapist, clinical coordinator and outpatient coordinator specializing in the treatment of upper extremity injuries for 19 years, he joined the Baylor Rehab team in 2011. He became a licensed driving instructor in 2011 and a certified driver rehabilitation specialist in 2014.
Tommy holds a Master of Occupational Therapy from Texas Woman’s University. In 1988, he joined the Dallas Rehabilitation Institute where he specialized in spinal cord injury rehabilitation and gained an interest in adaptive driving, becoming a licensed driving instructor. In 2005, he joined Baylor Rehab where he has continued to develop his teaching/training techniques in the field of driver rehabilitation.
Tommy has served on the Association for Driver Rehabilitation Specialists’ board of directors and various committees, as well as made several presentations at the organization’s annual conference.
