Patients & Visitors 

The road to rehabilitation is challenging enough—things like parking and housing shouldn’t be. At Baylor Institute for Rehabilitation, we want to make the logistical aspects of your rehab as easy as possible. 

Tours

We would love to meet you. Tours are offered Monday through Friday, and if you can come between 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. or 1 to 3 p.m., you can observe therapy sessions.

  • Night or weekend tours can be arranged 

Room Assignments

We’ll make you comfortable right away in a room based on your medical needs and our availability. Most patients are admitted to a semi-private room. 

We want you to feel at home, so please feel free to bring plants, photographs, cards or other personal items to decorate your room.  

Your First Day

Once you’re settled in your room, a Patient Admissions Coordinator will greet you in your room for bedside admission and orientation. Your nurse will also do a medical assessment. Some important first-day reminders:

  • A family member should accompany you if possible
  • Please bring your insurance, prescription and/or Medicare cards
  • Please bring your driver’s license and social security card

Family & Guest Housing

We can assist your out-of-town family members with a variety of nearby, lower-cost housing options, including hotels and motels or short- or long-term stays. 

Please call 214.820.9330 for a list. Your social worker can also help. 

Parking

We know a large medical campus can be intimidating. But after awhile, the parking lots will be familiar. We promise. 

Parking lot #28 (adjacent to hospital on Gaston Avenue)
  • For family members of inpatients and outpatients and participants in community exercise and aquatics
  • $2.00 charge 
Parking lots #27 and #9 (On the corner of Gaston and Hall)
  • For guests and visitors
  • $2.00-$4.00 charge depending on time length 
Front & Side Driveways
  • These are designated for patient drop-off and pick-up
  • Please, no parking for family members and visitors
