At Baylor Institute for Rehabilitation, we know orthopedic injuries can be painful and difficult to deal with, and that’s why the orthopedic specialists are here for you. Our rehabilitation team will provide the necessary treatment, care and support to get you back to where you were before your injury. The road to recovery is not always an easy one, but we’ll be there with you each step of the way.
At BIR, all of our patients receive the same level of service and care. However, we know some patients may require a little bit extra, and that’s why we base all treatment on your individual needs and abilities. During your time with us, you will be in close contact with your physiatrist and other rehabilitation team members, such as a care coordinator and a social worker, allowing them to closely monitor your progress and recovery. Your best interests are our best interests.
Multiple trauma patients usually have complex injuries and require a very specific type of care and treatment, as the recovery process can be slow and challenging. BIR will provide you with an experienced rehabilitation team that will work to help you function independently – again.
As a joint replacement patient, you may require intensive nursing care. Your BIR rehabilitation team will monitor your progress daily, as well as train and educate you on the necessary programs that will help you adjust to everyday life. Through physical and occupational therapy, we will help you regain the strength, mobility and confidence to get you back to where you were.
Although treatment goals and expected outcomes are typically the same for joint fracture as joint replacement, the length of stay is generally longer. Many factors play a role in this process, and that’s why your treatment team will be with you throughout the entire process, keeping you comfortable, fully aware of your progress, and on track for a successful discharge.
