Barbara Vaughn, RN, BSN, BS, CCM 

 

Chief Nursing Officer

Barbara Vaughn serves as the chief nursing officer for Baylor Medical Center at Carrollton. She has diverse experience in healthcare management including strategic planning, budget development and administration, medical surgical nursing, pediatric nursing, rehabilitation nursing, care coordination and social work, staff development, recruitment and retention, and employee recognition. 

Vaughn joined the Baylor Health Care System in 2002 and most recently served as director of acute care services at Baylor Medical Center at Garland, where she was responsible for providing effective leadership for medical-surgical nursing, telemetry, inpatient rehabilitation, intensive care unit, palliative care, resource nursing pool, discharge lounge and the Comprehensive Wound Center. She also served as interim chief nursing officer and chief operations officer at Baylor Garland.

Prior roles with Baylor include manager of care coordination and social work at Baylor Medical Center at Irving and care coordinator at Baylor University Medical Center at Dallas. A nurse for 35 years, Vaughn completed the Baylor Health Care System Nurse Executive Fellowship Program at Southern Methodist University in 2011 and holds a Master of Science in nursing administration and a Bachelor of Science in nursing, both from Texas Woman's University.
