Suffering from Reflux or Heartburn?

If heartburn or acid reflux medications are not relieving your symptoms of chronic acid reflux, then the TIF procedure may provide the long-term relief of the disease. A new incisionless solution is now available to relieve symptoms of GERD, or Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease. The TIF procedure, or Transoral Incisionless Fundoplication, corrects the anatomical cause of GERD by surgically reconstructing the natural valve that stops acid from coming up into the esophagus.

Heartburn is the most common symptom but you may also experience:

  • Hoarseness or sore throat
  • Excessive clearing of the throat
  • Frequent swallowing
  • Chronic cough
  • Asthma or asthma-like symptoms
  • Burning in the mouth or nose
  • Pain or discomfort in the chest
  • Intolerance to certain foods
  • Yellow fluid or pillow stains after sleep
  • Dental erosions or therapy resistant gum disease or inflammation

For a referral to a physician on the medical staff at Baylor Carrollton who can perform the TIF procedure, please call 1.800.4BAYLOR.
