We Can Help

Baylor Carrollton hosts monthly support and education groups for patients who are considering, or have already had bariatric weight loss surgery (WLS). All patients are welcome, including those whose surgery was performed elsewhere. Baylor Carrollton also hosts nutrition classes to guide you to success. Reservations are encouraged to ensure sufficient seating. We encourage you to attend nutrition classes and monthly support group meetings to achieve and maintain your WLS goals! 

Weight Loss Surgery Support Group

Do you need support from others to help you on your weight loss journey? Baylor Medical Center at Carrollton offers Weight Loss Surgery Support Groups that can help. Whether you are a Weight Loss Surgery patient from another program or are pre-surgery to post-surgery, our support groups can provide the help you need to be successful. These support groups are led by the Bariatric RN Coordinator, who is a WLS patient as well, and specializes in helping weight loss surgery patients be the best they can be. Successful Habits of Weight Loss Surgery Patients

This course is available in six 2-hour sessions or in two 4-hour sessions and is open to all WLS patients. It is based on studies of long-term weight loss surgery patients and their successful habits. We will discuss habits of successful weight loss patients in order to provide insight to current patients. This class features in-depth discussions of successful habits: personal accountability, nutrition, fluid intake, portion control, and regular exercise. Come prepared to analyze your personal progress, set new goals and recommit to long-term success.

Back on Track

This course is available in six 2-hour sessions or in two 4-hour sessions. Back on Trackers have very special needs that are not addressed in traditional support groups or online support chats and forums. This program is exclusively for long-term WLS patients who seek a maintenance plan for life or need a kick start to lose or re-lose a few extra pounds. This course is specifically designed to incorporate all of the key elements of long-term success.
