Whether you are expecting your first child or already a parent, we offer a variety of classes to fit every family. We provide comprehensive childbirth education designed to specifically meet the needs of growing families. Classes are taught by registered nurses, certified childbirth educators and certified lactation consultants.
To register for any of our classes, please call 1.800.4BAYLOR. Class space is limited, so we recommend that you register during your first trimester of pregnancy. So come and join our family and let us help you with yours!

This Lamaze-style class includes breathing and relaxation techniques, birthing and medication options, the role of the labor coach, cesarean birth, early newborn care and a hospital tour. It also includes a breastfeeding class. Participants should bring four pillows and a blanket to class and wear loose, comfortable clothing. The class is taken five, three hour sessions. This class is intended for individuals planning to deliver at Baylor Carrollton. If an individual is not planning to deliver at Baylor Carrollton, it is strongly encouraged that you register for a childbirth class at the facility in where the individual plans to deliver. *Parents are also encouraged to attend All About Baby and Infant & Child CPR classes.

This two-day class is a condensed version of the Preparation for Childbirth class described above and includes a guest pediatrician lecture. Participants attend two Saturday sessions. Participants should bring four pillows and a blanket to class and wear loose, comfortable clothing. This class is intended for individuals planning to deliver at Baylor Carrollton. If an individual is not planning to deliver at Baylor Carrollton, it is strongly encouraged that you register for a childbirth class at the facility in where the individual plans to deliver. This two and a half-hour class is for those who want to learn the fundamentals of baby care and infant care development, and includes a guest pediatrician lecture. It is ideal for expectant or adoptive parents, and some of the topics covered include:

Cost: $30 per couple (includes resource guidebook)
This course is designed to teach parents child safety interventions. Topics include infant and child cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), including mannequin practice, and choking management. While this three-hour class will teach basic skills, it is not a certification course. Call 1.800.4BAYLOR to register.
Cost: $30 per couple, $10 for each additional participant (includes resource guidebook)
This one and a half-hour class, designed for children ages 3 1/2 to 8 years old, gives children the opportunity to discuss their new roles as brothers and sisters. Instructors will discuss sibling emotions, such as jealousy, provide a hospital tour and a show a special film titled, "Hey, What About Me?" All children receive a participation certificate. At least one parent is required to stay for the duration of the class. The hospital recommends children complete this class about two to four weeks prior to mom's due date. Cost: $15 per couple (includes a surprise gift bag)
This seven-hour program teaches 11 to 13 years old how to be safe, nurturing babysitters. Students get hand-on practice in basic lifesaving techniques to show them what to do if a crisis should occur. They also learn safety and security precautions as well as basic child development. To complete the class, students must pass a written test to show they have mastered the key concepts and have the skills they need to handle an emergency. Call 972.394.2207 to register.
