Technology

Our diagnostic imaging centers offer advanced technology in many modalities:

MRI

3 and 1.5 Tesla MRI scanners offer high field strength magnets, producing images with more detail and clarity than open-field MRI scanners. The 3T MAGNETOM Skyra MRI at the Advanced Imaging Center also accommodates individuals up to 550 pounds and is more spacious for patients with claustrophobia or anxiety.

CT and PET/CT

32-slice and 16-slice GE Lightspeed CT scanner takes detailed, two dimensional pictures for general body, neuro, and orthopedic conditions. The CT Lightspeed XTRA WIDE BORE scanner located at the Advanced Imaging Center accommodates individuals up to 650 lbs and is more spacious for patients with claustrophobia or anxiety. Baylor Diagnostic Imaging Center at Junius also offers PET/CT for the detection of physiological conditions layered with the body's anatomical composition.

Interventional Radiology

Minimally invasive procedures with the guidance of X-ray, MRI and CT imaging allow for a shorter hospital stay, less pain and a faster recovery period.

Professionalism

Radiologists and technologists on staff at Baylor Diagnostic Imaging Centers are all licensed and certified for specific areas of expertise. With a unified goal to provide you very good service, our team is dedicated to making your experience smooth and to providing the best possible imaging outcomes for your diagnosis and treatment. Our imaging staff includes more than 50 radiologists on the medical staff at Baylor Dallas who have subspecialty training in areas of:

Each Baylor Diagnostic Imaging Center is accredited by the American College of Radiology as having met the highest standards for personnel qualifications, image quality, equipment performance, safety standards, quality assurance and quality control. These accreditation's span across modalities and services, including sonography, MRI, CT, X-ray and digital fluoroscopy. Baylor Dallas is also recognized by the the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board for certified nuclear medicine technologists.

Safety

Patient safety is a vital part of the vision of Baylor Health Care System. At Baylor Diagnostic Imaging Centers, we make it our top priority to continuously monitor our imaging processes to align with appropriate radiation safety measures. In particular, we have reduced the amount of CT contrast given to patients by up to 25 percent by creating personalized protocols for each patient referred for a CT exam. This attention to detail extends to all imaging modalities performed at our centers to minimize our patients' exposure to radiation while continuing to provide the best possible quality imaging.
