Follow Up

Follow Up is very important. Medications may need to be adjusted or if a sleep study has been done, a follow-up appointment may be scheduled to discuss the results and review treatment options.

Ongoing follow-up with a specialist on the medical staff at Baylor Dallas, when appropriate, contributes to the success of treatment. Not all patients require further follow-up.

However, one example of ongoing follow-up occurs in patients who have been diagnosed with sleep apnea. Continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) therapy is frequently the treatment of choice. The Sleep Center staff works closely with the patient to provide good adaptation to CPAP. Physicians on the medical staff of the Sleep Center at Baylor Dallas work with the patient’s referring physician, sending him or her reports detailing the finding, treatment recommendations, and progress.
