Integrative Medicine Program 

Although located in the cancer center, the new Integrative Medicine Program is open to everyone.  It's located in the Virginia R. Cvetko Patient Education and Support Center, Suite 200. To schedule an appointment, please call patient navigation at 214.820.3535.

The Integrative Medicine Program at Baylor Charles A. Sammons Cancer Center at Dallas, the first in North Texas, offers quality care in a healing environment. It combines complementary, holistic, ancillary and traditional medical approaches, optimizing the foundations of good health for body, mind and spirit.

  • Mind-body medicine is integrated with traditional care to promote optimal health and healing
  • Individualized approaches to lifestyle, diet and exercise
  • The unique makeup of each patient is considered, along with the internal and external environmental factors that affect well-being

    • Relaxation techniques
    • Breathing techniques
    • Guided imagery, participants receive a free guided imagery CD
  • Lifestyle modifications such as stress management, nutrition, exercise and sleep, so patients are able to manage physical and emotional challenges and side effects of cancer therapies

  • Spiritual support 

Healing Gardens and Meditation Room

  • Meditation - a meditation room is always open and available to patients and family for quiet reflection. The meditation room is located on the Collins Family Bridge of Hope that links Baylor Sammons Cancer Center and the Baylor Cancer Hospital.
  • Interfaith Garden of Prayer provides a peaceful respite for patients and family.  It offers a waterwall, natural environment and a labyrinth to walk in meditation.
  • Healing Garden - just outside of the new Baylor Sammons Cancer Center is the Martha Foster-Skiles healing Garden, known as "Lovie's Garden," that offers small seating areas, soothing water features and walking path to provide a natural retreat where patients, family members and caregivers can relax and rejuvenate.
