Chemotherapy and radiation treatments and transplants affect many different parts of the body, including the mouth, teeth and gums. The dental clinic at Baylor Charles A. Sammons Cancer Center  at Dallas provides preventive and proactive oral health care before and after cancer treatment or organ transplantation.

Organ transplant recipients have a higher risk of oral cancer and should undergo regular screenings to detect cell abnormalities or irregularities.

Dental clinic and lab services are designed to reduce the incidence of oral complications associated with such treatments.
