Nutrition
In addition to medical care, good nutrition is crucial in the fight against cancer. Research by the American Cancer Society shows poor nutrition have a negative impact on cancer therapy, including increased risk for complications, poor tolerance and response to treatment and a lower quality of life.
The Baylor Charles A. Sammons Cancer Center offers personalized nutrition counseling with a registered dietitian who is available five days a week. The one-on-one sessions can be arranged around your visits to the cancer center for treatment. Your physician can refer you to the dietitians or call (214) 820-2608 to set up an appointment.
