Baylor University Medical Center at Dallas is celebrating victories over cancer with a special “Passing the Torch” relay event.
What: Passing the Torch Relay around the Baylor Dallas Campus in honor of ovarian and breast cancer survivors.
Date: Thursday, September 30, 2010
Schedule of Events:
9:00 a.m. - Gather outside of the Jack and Jill Hamilton Heart and Vascular Hospital on the Hall Street side.
9:30 a.m. - Relay begins
10:00 a.m. - Short program and reception in the park at the Baylor Tom Landry Health and Wellness Center.
September is Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month and October is Breast Cancer Awareness month and we will pass the torch to increase awareness of their genetic link. Ovarian and breast cancer survivors have been selected to "bear the torch" and walk a relay leg around the Baylor Dallas campus. They will pass the torch of victory from one survivor to another.
All cancer survivors are invited to participate by walking behind the torch bearer, show support by cheering them on along the route and at the reception.
