Digestive or gastrointestinal cancers affect the digestive system and are among the most common forms of cancer. They also can be among the most deadly. Colon cancer, for example, is the third most common cancer in men and women and the second leading cause of cancer death in the United States.
Although gastrointestinal cancer can be serious, screening and early diagnosis can play a large role in improving treatment outcomes. The Baylor Charles A. Sammons Cancer Center at Dallas offers comprehensive advanced screening and treatment programs to help you beat the various forms of gastrointestinal cancer.
Our colorectal cancer care is a Center of Excellence and the Liver and Pancreas Disease Center focuses on treatment of patients with primary and metastatic liver cancer, as well as those with bile duct cancer and other neoplasms. The Center helps you access health care quickly and offers personalized coordinated care, guided by a specially trained nurse from diagnosis through treatment.
