Digestive Cancer Diagnosis & Treatment Options 

If you are diagnosed with cancer, your personal physician or a Baylor Dallas clinical coordinator can make a referral to medical, surgical and radiation oncologists on the medical staff at Baylor Dallas.   Care management is provided from initial diagnosis or second opinion and consultation through follow-up care.  

Diagnostic Techniques

Treatment Options

The type of treatment technique used depends upon the type of cancer. The following is a list of some common treatment options:

  • Chemotherapy
  • Chemoembolization - chemotherapy medicines injected directly into the tumor
  • CyberKnife® Radiosurgery
  • Endoscopic Dilation of the Esophagus
  • Endoscopic Esophageal Resection

  • Gastrectomy
  • Hepatic Artery Infusion Therapy - infusions used when multiple tumors are present in one lobe of the liver or the entire liver.
