I need information about...
Acute myelogenous leukemia (AML) is usually a rapidly growing cancer that starts in bone marrow and spreads to the blood and other parts of the body, including the spleen, liver and other organs. It occurs in patients of all ages, but is most common in adults older than 60. Because it's unusually fast moving, receiving treatment quickly is important.
Currently there are no known ways to prevent most forms of hematologic cancers or lymphomas. However, some of these conditions have possible causes, including acute myelogenous leukemia.
