Non-Hodgkin's lymphoma is a very common form of lymphoma and causes tumors to form in lymph nodes throughout the body. These lymphomas may spread to the spleen and bone marrow and can involve other organs in advanced cases. There are many types of non-Hodgkin's lymphoma that can be characterized by biopsy with immunologic and molecular special studies. Although the incidence rate of non-Hodgkin's lymphoma has increased in the United States over the past several decades, improved treatments also have increased survival rates.
