Lung Cancer

The Charles A. Sammons Lung Cancer Center at Dallas, a Center of Excellence and part of the Baylor Charles A. Sammons Cancer Center, takes a focused approach to lung cancer care and management. Patients receive prompt, specialized care from a coordinated treatment team of pulmonologists, medical oncologists, radiation oncologists, pathologists, radiosurgeons and thoracic surgeons on the medical staff at Baylor University Medical Center at Dallas. A nurse coordinator will guide you through your treatments and assist you with support services.

This coordinated and compassionate approach to patient care results in better communication among the specialists and speeds the referral and treatment process. The medical professionals work to keep you well informed about your diagnosis and treatment recommendations and your referring physician is also kept apprised of your progress. Patients also have access to a wide range of clinical research trials through the Baylor Sammons Lung Cancer Center.

Physicians at the Baylor Radiosurgery Center are using CyberKnife® to treat some forms of lung cancer. This advanced procedure combines robotics, imaging and radiotherapy technology to deliver precise doses of radiation to directly target cancer cells.
