Gynecologic Care 

From routine screenings to specialized cancer care, Baylor Frisco uses advanced technology to diagnose and treat the unique conditions that affect women, including:

Uterine fibroids

As many as 30 to 40 percent of women over the age of 30 may experience uterine fibroids, which can lead to heavy, painful periods. While some women many not experience any symptoms, for those who do, Baylor Frisco offers several treatment options:

  • Endometrial ablation, which uses a heat source to destroy the inner layer of the uterus
  • Uterine fibroid embolization, a nonsurgical procedure that blocks the blood supply of individual fibroids, causing them to shrink.
  • Myomectomy (uterine fibroid removal)
  • Hysterectomy, surgery to remove the uterus, which can be performed either traditionally or using the da Vinci® Si Surgical System.

Pelvic disorders

Millions of women experience urinary incontinence and other voiding dysfunctions. At Baylor Frisco, the gynecologists on our medical staff work together to offer specialized evaluation and treatment for the following conditions:

  • Incontinence
  • Prolapsed uterus, bladder, vagina, or rectum
  • Emptying disorders
  • Pelvic or bladder pain
  • Overactive bladder

Gynecological Cancers

Gynecologic cancer is a group of six forms of cancer which affect a woman's reproductive organs. Baylor Frisco also offers advanced diagnostic, treatment and surgical technology for gynecological cancers, including cancers of the:

  • Vagina
  • Vulva
  • Fallopian tubes
