Focusing on the Details 

Kelly Maier, director of marketing at Baylor Garland, says it’s not “just” a physician referral service. “We can educate the consumer through a variety of details that we have available on each physician in our service,” she says.

“We offer the physician’s age, specialty, subspecialty, education, and whether or not the physician is board certified,” she adds. “From this information, most callers are able to make a decision on which doctor they want to choose.”

Although the information provided to each caller is beneficial, there are a couple of limitations. “Because insurance contracts change, sometimes on a daily basis, we cannot provide current insurance information on each physician,” Maier says.

Insurance information can be confirmed when a patient contacts the physician office. “We also cannot offer our personal opinion on which doctor to select,” she says.
