Baylor's behavioral health program provides evidence-based diagnostic and therapeutic services aimed at helping patients develop strategies for coping with illness, improve health outcomes, enhance quality of life, and overcome emotional problems associated with illness.
Care is provided in a warm environment with clean, private rooms/bathrooms and well-maintained common areas, including a kitchen/eating area.
Psychosocial issues such as depression, stress, anxiety, cognitive or memory problems, or marital distress can develop over the course of physical illness.
Seniors are susceptible to mental health issues related to aging in addition to other psychosocial issues, which is why we offer the Behavioral Health Senior Program at Baylor Garland.
Behavioral Medicine is a specialized field which aims to prevent or ameliorate physical disease by treating the “whole person”. It integrates treatment to include the biological, psychological, behavioral, and social factors know to cause, worsen or perpetuate illnesses and disability.
