Where's the nearest pharmacy?

• There is a CVS Pharmacy located near the hospital at the southwest corner of Walnut St. and Shiloh Rd. that is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m to midnight, Saturday from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. 
• There is also a Kroger Pharmacy just down the road from the hospital located at the southwest corner of Walnut St. and Garland Road that is open Monday through Friday 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., Saturday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. 
• The nearest 24-hour pharmacy is at Walgreen's located on the northwest corner of Broadway Blvd. and Centerville Rd. at 3045 Broadway Blvd., Garland, TX 75041. 
• Walmart and Target are located near the Pres. George Bush Turnpike (Hwy. 190) and Garland Rd. intersection.

Where may I sleep?

What are some general things to know when visiting a patient?

• Baylor Garland is a smoke-free campus and therefore smoking is not permitted in patient rooms or anywhere on our campus.
• People with colds, sore throats, or flu like symptoms should not visit.
• Shirts and shoes are required.
• Visitors may be asked to leave the room during tests or treatments or when the doctor or nurse needs to see the patient.
• Access to Baylor Garland is limited after 9 p.m.  Should a caregiver or family member need to come to or leave the hospital after 9 p.m. you will need to enter and exit through the emergency department located on the east side of the hospital.  
• Visitors seeing a patient in our Intensive Care Unit (ICU) may be asked to limit your visiting time to 15 minutes and visit in small groups.

When may I visit a patient?

• There are no established visiting hours, but consideration should be given to the patient's need for rest during recovery.
• If visiting after 9 p.m., please enter the hospital through the emergency department located on the east side of the hospital.

May I bring gifts, foods or flowers to a patient?

• Visitors should check with the patient's nurse before bringing gifts of food or drink to patients to ensure that it is appropriate.
• Fresh flowers and plants are not allowed in the ICU or the oncology unit.
• Balloons are not allowed in the ICU unit.

Do you have a gift shop? 

• Yes, Baylor Garland has a gift shop located in the main lobby on the first floor of the hospital.  The gift shop is open from 9 a.m.to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and offers a variety of items including jewelry, flowers, baby gifts, greeting cards, candy, and toiletries. Credit cards, local checks and cash are accepted.

Is there a refrigerator I can use?

• A Visitors' Lounge, equipped with a refrigerator and microwave, is available on each patient floor, allowing family members to accept visitors and stay close without compromising the patient during their recovery.

Where are some nearby hotels?

Do you have dining onsite? What are the hours? 

• An executive chef trained in the dietary needs of patients strives to prepare foods that are pleasing to the eyes and palate. Meals are served to patients between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m.  If you are scheduled for a special test or treatment, your nurse will order your meal once your test is completed or you have returned to your room.
• For the Garland Café daily menu, please call 5.3535.
• The Baylor Garland Café is located on the basement level and is open 7 days a week for breakfast from 6:30-10 a.m., lunch from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Guests of patients may also purchase a visitor meal tray to be delivered to the patient's room. They may be purchased from a cashier in the Garland Café between 6:30 a.m. and 3 p.m.
• Vending machines are located in our vending area which is just around the corner from our Main Lobby in the Medical Imaging hallway.
