The first three hours after a stroke are critical for treatment and now area residents have access to quality stroke care close to home. Baylor Grapevine is certified as a primary stroke center which means we demonstrate the ability to provide the complete continuum of care improving outcomes for people who suffer strokes. Procedures are set in place for the emergency department to quickly evaluate stroke victims for treatment options, which may include the use of drug therapy for dissolving clots. Drug therapy within the first three hours after the start of stroke symptoms can significantly reduce the effects of stroke and reduce permanent disability.
