Baylor Medical Center at Irving offers support groups and educational classes for those recently diagnosed with cancer or those in recovery. A few of the options include:

Choosing to Survive: First Monday Cancer Support Group

This Lunch-and-Learn group meets the first Monday of each month, noon to 1 p.m., in the Baylor Charles A. Sammons Cancer Center at Irving. Cancer fighters, survivors and their family members are welcome to bring a lunch and join us. The group covers topics including nutrition, fitness, support through the journey, cancer research and quality of life. Caregivers Support Group

Meets the first Thursday of each month, noon to 1 p.m. Topics focus on the challenges faced by caregivers and what resources are available to help. Call 1.800.4BAYLOR for more information or to register.

Survivors on Purpose: A Triple Negative Breast Cancer Support Group

Meets the fourth Thursday of the month from 6-8 p.m. at the Baylor Charles A. Sammons Cancer Center at Irving. This unique support group was founded by breast cancer survivor Leslie Williams who knows first hand the experiences one goes through with a triple negative breast cancer diagnosis. The group is designed to help women better understand the diagnosis and create a dialogue. This group will also learn more about participatory research and clinical trials, engage in face-to-face peer support and more. To register for this support group, please call 1.800.4BAYLOR. Yoga Fitness Class

This free yoga fitness class offers all the benefits of stretching exercise with cancer fighters and cancer survivors in mind. The class meets in the Baylor Charles A. Sammons Cancer Center at Irving every Thursday, 12:30-1:30 p.m. Bring your yoga mat, water, towel and an open mind and take advantage of all that yoga has to offer:

  • Relaxation
  • Stress relief
