Age of Patients:
Wheelchairs are available in the department to assist with transport to the clinic. Please park outside the outpatient entrance and request assistance at the information desk or call before coming and a staff member will meet you at your car.
The hospital offers a free valet service to park patients and visitors cars. Please pull up to the main entrance for that service.
If a patient is unable to attend the scheduled appointment, he/she should call the department a minimum of 24 hours in advance to cancel. As much notice as possible of cancellations is appreciated.
Early notification allows ample time for a new patient to be scheduled in the vacant slot.
Cellular phones must be turned off when working with a therapist. The noise can be very distracting for patients trying to focus on their therapy program.
Co-payments for all services are due on the day services are rendered. Payment is collected at the Cashier's office in the front lobby. It is collected prior to the visit.
Credit cards are accepted at the Cashier's desk
If a patient uses any medical equipment for mobility, it should be brought to the first appointment. Patients must provide all equipment such as walkers, canes, crutches, splints, communication devices, and gait belts.
Parking is available in the lot directly across from the main hospital entrance. All visitor parking is free.
There is valet parking available for patients (also at no charge). The valet is located at the main hospital entrance portico.
Patients must check-in in the department 30 minutes before their scheduled appointment.
All physical medicine patients are admitted and registered in the physical medicine department.
Scheduling of Follow-Up Visits:
The frequency of therapy follow-up visits is dependent upon the treatment plan approved by the physician. Most patients are seen 2 to 3 times per week. Patients should notify the office staff of any special requests for appointment scheduling.
The secretary and/or therapist will confirm additional appointments for therapy following the initial evaluation.
Baylor is not responsible for valuables or other personal items left unattended. Patients should leave any valuable and non-essential items at home for safekeeping. We do have lockers in the rest rooms that can be used for security.
Baylor is a smoke-free hospital. As of January, 2007 – No smoking will be allowed on campus including the parking areas.
Baylor Medical Center at Irving provides limited Van service for patients in the Irving area. Requests for van service must be arranged by the clinic and will be addressed with the patient after the initial evaluation.
