Steve Roussel was appointed chief financial officer and chief compliance officer of Baylor Medical Center at McKinney in spring 2011. In this role, Roussel is responsible for financial planning and budgeting, directing and coordinating nursing and ancillary services to ensure the delivery of safe, quality, efficient, and compassionate care.
Roussel serves as a member of the executive leadership team and collaborates regularly with physicians to implement the hospital’s best practices, while striving to achieve the mission and vision of Baylor Health Care System.
Before joining Baylor McKinney, Roussel served as vice president of finance and as compliance officer for Baylor Medical Center at Waxahachie. During his tenure, Roussel helped improve hospital operations through strong financial management and increased staffing productivity. Roussel assisted the medical center in earning several key awards including: Thomson Reuters 100 Top Hospital® designation, the 2009 and 2010 Texas Award for Performance Excellence, and the 2007 Texas Health Care Quality Improvement Award.
Roussel is a graduate of Abilene Christian University where he earned a bachelor’s degree in finance/accounting and a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Dallas. He is a member of the Healthcare Financial Management Association.
