Our Children's House at Plano 

Our Services

Pediatric specialists at Our Children's House at Plano evaluate and treat patients in a warm, comfortable environment designed especially for children. 

Our services include: 

  • Occupational therapy
  • Physical therapy
  • Speech/language therapy
  • Parent education and support
  • Care Coordination
  • Developmental Screenings and Equipment Assessments

Specialized Treatment Programs:

In addition to our standard services, we offer specialized programs specifically tailored to your child's unique needs: 

  • Feeding therapy for children with neurological and/or behavioral feeding disorders, including feeding group therapy and behavioral counseling
  • Bilingual services (physical therapy only at this time)
  • Handwriting therapy: evaluate and treat children with handwriting disorders
  • Dietary / Nutrition Consultations for current feeding patients
  • Sensory integration to help patients and families understand and improve sensory processing
  • Therapeutic listening program
  • Neuromuscular Electrical Stimulation (Vital Stim®)
  • Group classes that can enhance a patient’s ability to achieve their goals: these may include groups for feeding, social skills, articulation, motor planning, etc.

Our Staff


Alisha Bunn, Office Coordinator
Alisha holds a bachelor's degree in child development from University of North Texas. Alisha is our go-to for all processes in the front office, and holds a special place in her heart for our kiddos. She volunteers 100+ hours a year with Camp John Marc and spends a week per year with Camp Esperanza. She is one of our patients' favorite faces to see, and always has a DVD playing or coloring books ready to entertain while they wait.

Elizabeth Abbott, Therapy Tech
Elizabeth joined OCH Plano in August 2012 and brings with her lots of enthusiasm and experience with kiddos. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree and is planning to apply to occupational therapy school in 2013. She can be found making therapy even better – finding just the right toys to make sessions fun or cleaning up for that quick transition!

Physical Therapist

Melisa Smith, PT, DPT, C/NDT, CKTP
holds a Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Utica College, and has worked in varied settings including pediatric and adult rehab. She holds numerous certifications including a pediatric certificate, Clinical Instructor Certification, Neuro-Developmental Treatment (NDT) Certification, certified kinesio taping practitioner and interactive metronome certification.

Kelli Kadlec, PT, DPT
Kelli holds a Doctorate of Physical Therapy, and is our most recent addition to the Plano team! She can also be found in Las Colinas two days per week

Speech Therapists

Ashley Cummings, MS/CCC/SLP
holds a Master of Science in speech language pathology from the University of North Texas. She came to OCH from an Early Childhood Intervention program and is certified in Vital Stim Therapy.

Rachel Jeffords, MS/CCC/SLP
Rachel holds a Master of Science in speech language pathology from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. Rachel has experience in various settings including inpatient, outpatient, and school based therapy. She has a particular interest in autism, stuttering and oral motor/feeding/swallowing patients.

Alisa Jackson, MS/CCC/SLP
graduated from the University of North Texas with a master's degree in speech language pathology . She has experience in both inpatient and outpatient settings, with a particular interest in our feeding patients. Alisa is certified in Beckman Oral Motor Assessment and Intervention and Vital Stim® Therapy.

Occupational Therapists

Monica Castillo, OTR/L MBA, IMC
is a graduate of the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio and The University of Texas at San Antonio, and is currently working on her master's degree in occupational therapy. Monica has worked in various pediatric settings in Texas and California and holds certifications in Interactive Metronome Treatment and the Beckman Oral Motor Assessment and Intervention. She has a special interest in autism spectrum disorders and behavioral and sensory based feeding children.

Amy Braswell, OTR/L
holds a bachelor's in kinesiology and health promotion from the University of Texas at Austin and a master's in occupational therapy from Texas Woman's University at Houston. Amy has experience in both pediatric and adult rehab.

Behavioral Feeding Psychology

Sarah Dumas, MA, LPC
holds a B.A. in psychology from Baylor University and an M.A. in counseling psychology from The University of Texas at Tyler with a specialization in couples and family counseling. Sarah has experience in behavioral therapy, cognitive therapy and cognitive rehabilitation, as well as experience in treating individuals with feeding disorders, brain injuries, chronic pain, depression and anxiety. She currently travels between our outpatient sites to treat our behavioral feeding patients in concurrence with either speech or occupational therapy.
