Baylor Plano Weight Loss Surgery Program Is Named Blue Distinction® Center For Bariatric Surgery
(PLANO, TEXAS -June 30, 2008) The Baylor Plano Weight Loss Surgery Program was recently named a Blue Distinction® Center for Bariatric Surgery by the Blue Cross and Blue Shield Companies. Blue Distinction® is a designation awarded by the Blue Cross and Blue Shield companies to medical facilities that have demonstrated expertise in delivering quality healthcare, under objective selection criteria.
According to the Blue Cross and Blue Shield Association, Blue Distinction Centers for Bariatric Surgery have shown their dedication to quality care, resulting in improved outcomes for bariatric patients. Each program adheres to stringent criteria, developed in association with physician panels and national medical societies, including the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery (ASMBS) and Surgical Review Corporation (SRC), and is subject to periodic reassessment as criteria evolves.
