Date Awarded: March 2011The Commission on Cancer (CoC) of the American College of Surgeons has granted its Outstanding Achievement Award to Baylor Regional Medical Center at Plano as a result of surveys performed during 2010. Baylor Plano is one of a select group of 90 currently accredited and newly accredited cancer programs across the United States and one of two programs in Texas to receive this recognition.

Date Awarded: February 2011Baylor Regional Medical Center at Plano has been granted a three-year/Full accreditation designation by the National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers (NAPBC), a program administered by the American College of Surgeons. Baylor Plano is the only hospital in Collin County accredited by the NAPBC.

Date Awarded: June 2010 The Commission on Cancer (CoC) of the American College of Surgeons (ACoS) has granted Three-Year Accreditation with Commendation to the Cancer Program at Baylor Regional Medical Center at Plano. In addition, accredited cancer programs are assigned an Accreditation Category that describes the services available at the facility. Baylor Plano is the only hospital in Collin County to be designated a Community Hospital Comprehensive Cancer Program. This level of accreditation means that a facility treats 650 or more cancer patients each year and provides a wide range of diagnostic and treatment services available on site.
Date Awarded: April 2010 Patterned after the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award criteria and process, the Texas Award for Performance Excellence is an annual recognition of Texas organizations that have achieved performance excellence and applied outstanding quality principles in their day-to-day operations. The award is presented to organizations that serve as role models for quality, customer satisfaction, and performance excellence in the state of Texas.
Date Awarded: 2009 Texas Award for Performance Excellence is administered through Quality Texas. The Progress Level is for those organizations that have made progress toward a sound management system and the achievement of performance results.

Date Awarded: April 2009 Robin Jacks, Coordinator Concierge Services, received the Employee of the Year award from the Dallas-Fort Worth Hospital Council Education and Research Foundation.
Date Awarded: August 2009 Baylor Plano received a Texas Health Care Quality Improvement Achievement Award from TMF Health Quality Institute, the Medicare quality improvement organization for Texas.
Date Awarded: July 2009 Baylor Regional Medical Center at Plano was chosen as a World Health Organization Safe Surgery Checklist Mentor Hospital by the Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI). As an IHI mentor hospital, Baylor Plano is available to answer questions other hospitals may have about the checklist. The medical center piloted the Safe Surgery Checklist before it was implemented in operating rooms across the Baylor Health Care System and is now being contacted by other hospitals with questions about how to best implement the checklist at their own organizations.

Date Awarded: April 2008 by Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Texas* Blue Distinction® is a designation awarded by the Blue Cross and Blue Shield companies to medical facilities that have demonstrated expertise in delivering quality healthcare, under objective selection criteria.
Date Awarded: January 2008 The ASMBS Center of Excellence designation recognizes surgical programs with a demonstrated track record of favorable outcomes in bariatric surgery.

Date Awarded: November 2007 Baylor Plano was the only Texas hospital selected to present a successful patient project to the Institute for Healthcare Improvement team.
Date Awarded: September 2007 This designation confirms that a hospital has in its practices, the 12 essential elements of the ideal nursing practice environment – as defined by nurses and research.

Komen for the Cure to deliver education, breast health services and digital screening mammograms to an underserved population of women who historically do not seek early detection, prevention, or breast health education.
