Pink Pooch Parade

Doggone - It Was a Pink Out Day

(October 6, 2010, Plano, TX) Four-legged fashion hounds, modeling their best pink outfit, made their way through the halls of Baylor Regional Medical Center at Plano, on the morning of Wednesday, October 6.

Accompanied by their owners, these dogs aimed to spread awareness about the fight against breast cancer. The dogs and their owners regularly serve as volunteers visiting patients and assisting in rehabilitation therapy at Baylor Plano.

The best-attired fashion hounds were awarded the titles of Pinkest Pup, Coolest Canine and Most Fashionable Furry Friend during the hospital’s fifth annual Pink Pooch Parade

And the winners are:

Coolest Canine: Hattie, owner – Marla Williams
Most Fashionable Furry Friend: Star, owner – Sue Geller
Pinkest Pup: Yogi, owner – Sandy Shirley

The canine event is part of Baylor Plano's breast cancer awareness celebration on Pink Out Day.   According to the CDC, owning a pet helps people get more exercise as well as other benefits: helping to decrease blood pressure, lower cholesterol and triglyceride levels, and decreasing feelings of loneliness.
