Robotic Myomectomy Gets Debi Bush Back in the Classroom

(PLANO, TX, March 24, 2011) – Debi Bush, a 4th grade teacher in Plano, knew something was wrong when heavy monthly cylces began disrupting her day.

A sonogram showed a uterine fibroid the size of a softball that soon grew to the size of a grapefruit. At Baylor Regional Medical Center at Plano, Debi chose to undergo a robotically assisted myomectomy.

“I liked the precision that this technology gave my surgeon. I really trusted my doctor and the people at Baylor Plano.” After a week’s recovery, compared to more than two weeks with traditional surgery, Debbie was back in the classroom. “It’s wonderful. Now I’m able to focus on my job and enjoy being with my students.”
