The Baylor Regional Medical Center at Plano Behavioral Health Center is a resource to address the complex psychosocial issues associated with diseases.
Your thoughts about symptoms, attitude toward illness and expectations about the future course of disease have a tremendous influence on your functional ability.
Behavioral medicine is a specialized field that treats physical problems by treating the whole person. At the center we address biological, psychological, behavioral and social problems known to cause or worsen illness and quality of life.
We know patients have better outcomes when an integrated approach is used to treat all factors associated with physical conditions. Jay Ashmore, PhD, clinical director of the Behavioral Health Center, uses specific interventions to teach behavioral skill modifications necessary for making lifestyle changes.
The Behavioral Health Center provides science based diagnostic and therapeutic services aimed at helping patients develop strategies for coping with illness, improve health, enhance quality of life, and overcome emotional problems.
