The Baylor Regional Medical Center at Plano Behavioral Health Center is a resource to address the complex psychosocial issues associated with diseases.
Your thoughts about symptoms, attitude toward illness, and expectations about the future course of disease have a tremendous influence on your functional ability.
Behavioral Medicine is a specialized field that treats physical problems by treating the whole person. At the Center we address biological, psychological, behavioral, and social problems known to cause or worsen illness and quality of life.
We know patients have better outcomes when an integrated approach is used to treat all factors associated with physical conditions. Jay Ashmore, Ph.D., clinical director of the Behavioral Health Center uses specific nterventions to teach behavioral skill modifications necessary for making lifestyle changes.
