Skin Cancer

Skin cancer is the single-most common cancer. Although it is very treatable, the number of cases of melanoma, the deadliest type of skin cancer, is on the rise. According to the American Cancer Society projections, more than 68,000 new melanomas were diagnosed in the U.S. in 2010.[i]

The good news is, Baylor Regional Medical Center at Plano boasts a 90 percent cure rate with melanoma cases that are detected and treated early.

In fact, our highly trained staff offers complete skin cancer care, including early detection, treatment and support. Our awards and accreditations truly set us apart—both in Collin County and in Texas. We have recently earned:

Only 25 percent of hospitals in the U.S. are CoC-certified, yet 75 percent of cancer patients seek their health care at these facilities. In other words, the majority of cancer patients choose cancer programs like ours—cancer programs with a firm commitment to offering every significant advantage in the battle against cancer.
