Thanks to new robotic technology now available at Baylor Regional Medical Center at Plano, many patients no longer have to worry about lengthy down times after surgery. The FDA-approved da Vinci® S Surgical System enables many surgeries to be performed less invasively, typically leading to shorter hospital stays and faster recoveries.
With surgery utilizing the da Vinci® S Surgical System, surgeons insert miniaturized instruments and a 3-D camera through 1- to 2-centimeter incisions. The advanced robotics allow the surgeon to view a high-definition image of the surgical site on a computer monitor. His hand movements are translated into micro-movements inside the patient’s body, enabling surgeons to perform complex procedures with enhanced precision and control.
Baylor Plano is proud to be the first hospital in north Dallas and Collin County to offer this robotic system.
