From heartburn to stomach pain to irritable bowel syndrome to colon cancer, at Baylor Plano, we diagnose and treat a wide range of gastrointestinal disorders and digestive diseases.
We perform routine colonoscopies to screen for colon cancer, and we have a range of advanced technologies to diagnose digestive disorders. For example, endoscopies and the PillCam®, both of which use tiny cameras, allow physicians to see what’s happening in the esophagus, the stomach and the intestines without surgery or other invasive techniques.
And with the Spyglass® Direct Visualization System, which uses a tiny fiberoptic camera, the physicians on our medical staff can look inside something as tiny as a bile duct, which allows for better diagnoses of conditions like gallstones, suspected cancers, obstructions and cystic lesions.
For people who have Crohn’s disease, acid reflux, inflammatory bowel disease or other conditions, the gastroenterologists on the Baylor Plano medical staff are here to help. And for Barrett’s esophagus patients, who may face an increased risk of esophageal cancer, Baylor Plano has an advanced treatment that is not available everywhere. We offer Barrett’s ablation, a treatment that delivers radiofrequency energy to the lining of the esophagus to treat the diseased tissue.
